Kimberly-Clark Softex Receives Indonesia Green Award for the Third Consecutive Year
We are proud to announce that Kimberly-Clark Softex has been honored with the Indonesia Green Award for Developing Integrated Waste Management category for the past three consecutive years! The recognition is a testament to our commitment to society and environment through our Used Baby Diaper Recycling Program in 2021. As the pioneer of the used baby diaper recycling program in Indonesia, we have successfully recycled approximately 118.7 tons of used baby diapers since 2019 to date. With this award, we are inspired to make a greater contribution and innovation to our society and environment, reflecting on our purpose, Better Care for a Better World.
As a leading producer of diapers, Kimberly-Clark Softex is dedicated to improving environmental hygiene and extended producer responsibility (EPR) through this waste management plan. We will continue supporting the government to reduce non-biodegradable waste by recycling the used baby diapers into materials with economic value. The benefit of the Used Baby Diaper Management Program is not limited to sustainability, but also for the society, government, as well as Kimberly-Clark Softex's business and people. Through these activities, we provide waste management training, empower women around the society, and also support the national circular economy.
Starting in 2019 in Tangerang, Bandung, Karawang and Banyuwangi, we collaborated with impactful partners, such as Duitin, to provide this waste recycling service and educate society about the program. Additionally, in 2021, we partnered with Balai Besar Pulp dan Kertas (BPPK) to carry on the research on optimizing the process and improving the recycling products as fiber material and fuel alternatives for other industries.
